 Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited is seeking suitable candidates to join our team in the below capacity: 

Manager - eCommerce & Commercial Products


Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Create initiatives to aid the achievement of volume targets for eCommerce
  • Participate with other Team Leads in the development of strategies for client retention, and engagement
  • Work with Group marketing to ensure product awareness, and client communication is clear, effective and timely
  • Have direct responsibility for driving marketing initiatives aimed at ensuring proper client notifications, and awareness of product features and changes
  • Manage client experience for eCommerce database
  • Work with other sales teams across the Group to co-ordinate sales and cross-selling eCommerce efforts
  • Develop and manage sales initiatives to increase sales
  • Manage all Direct Mailing campaigns and ensure proper development and execution
  • Provide supervisory oversight to client support team for existing clients
  • Work with Loyalty, Consumer and Commercial Managers to acquire/develop relevant market matrices for new products and initiatives
  • Provide assistance with projects relating to payment products and related initiatives
  • Perform other related duties assigned from time to time
What Do You Need?
  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration, Banking & Finance, or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution
  • At least six (6) years overall working experience in Banking including extensive experience in sales and customer service
  • At least three (3) years working experience at the supervisory/managerial level
  • Strong sales or selling techniques for institutional/commercial sales
  • Must have a working understanding of the use of technology as it relates to the use of the internet, mobile phones and phone applications, and credit cards
  • Knowledge of Banking industry's on-boarding process and procedures, inclusive of the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA)

Bank reform: Finance Minister, Dr. Nigel Clarke, hints at new financial regulations.

  Jamaica's Finance Minister, Dr. Nigel Clarke  Dr. Nigel Clarke, Minister of Finance, has hinted in an online forum hosted on Twitter, that there will be new regulations coming that should protect the Jamaican consumers in the financial space. Dr. Clarke said: "The  government of Jamaica will be tabling very shortly sweeping regulatory that provides consumer protection , and I'll probably say more about that later. With respect to fees and banking fees, one of the things that is happening in our society today but we're not, uh... we don't, we're not conscious of it as a society is a shift away from brick and mortar into electronic and digital realm, and what has been happening is that the sector that is at the forefront of that transition is actually the banking sector." Dr. Clarke recently received scathing criticism from PNP Members of Parliament Fitz Jackson  

News: Foreigners competing for Jamaican jobs? Government to give foreigners one year residency to live and work in island.

Speaking last year at the opening ceremony for a new Passport Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) office at the Fairview Plaza in Montego Bay, Minister of National Security Dr. Horace Chang, revealed that a submission will soon be made to Cabinet for the agency to grant a one year temporary residency to eligible foreign nationals. Nearing the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr Chang noted, an increase in travel to the island will be expected.
