HEALTH & WELLNESS: God cares that you sleep well at night.

Christian Testimonies

"It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for He gives his beloved sleep."  Psalm 127:2 NKJV

I have always been fond of staying up late: flipping through TV channels, reading a book, and for the past three years watching videos on Youtube. It's been something I do to unwind before I go to bed.

It never bothered me that I wasn't getting enough sleep because my thought was I could make it up on Sundays after church. I never realised however, that as you get older, those bad habits take a toll.

COVID-19 VACCINES: mRNA vaccines could cause face paralysis.

Back in December 2020, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) had issued a warning to health care workers, who administer the giving of both the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines to closely monitor the recipients for side effects such as Bell's Palsy. Among the 30,000 trial participants for Moderna, three of the persons who received the vaccine experienced Bell's Palsy. DATING 101: Physical Attraction versus Compatibility.

 Author: S. Gordon-Jeffery

Most persons will admit that the first thing they notice about anyone is their appearance —how they look. Where a love relationship is concerned, we often allow our eyes to lead the way. The problem with that though is we sometimes fall for the person based on how they look and not on if this person is right for us. Are they compatible with us? Do their values and upbringing mesh with our own? Here are some tips to help you focus on what's really important.

DATING 101: Seven (7) Tips to help you heal after a relationship break up.

  Author: S. Gordon-Jeffery

For most of us falling in love and being in love is a profound experience. It's almost impossible to describe how deeply we feel for the one we love, so when the relationship goes sour it's very hard to accept that it's over and work through the pain of the break up without resentment.

Here are 7 tips to help you heal and recover from a bad break up.

1. Acknowledge that you are hurting.

The end of a relationship will affect us. It hits hard but there is a way to soften the blow: acknowledge that you are hurting because of the loss of the relationship. The pain you feel is not dissimilar to the death of a dear family member. Give yourself the space to cry, to even be depressed. That is normal. Only by acknowledging what's going on with you can you be able to identify any mistakes you've made to learn from them.

LOVE & RELATIONSHIPS: Jamaican women love in stages.

Opinion piece

Author: S. Gordon-Jeffery

Just like there are different stages to a romantic relationship. Jamaican women have mastered the art of loving in stages. We have no problem with falling deeply in love, but we're cautious. We take a step/stage at a time, we watch and we learn. Below I've listed the different stages of a Jamaican woman's love ... well, as I see them.

1. We spirit tek yuh

There is something about you we like. Maybe it's your intelligence, your charm or your swag. It could be that a kind gesture on your part made us notice. One thing is for sure, we see what we like and we're curious to know more. We'll not make you feel that we like you at first -- don't want your head to swell up (boost your ego), lol. We will, after careful observation, give you hints we're interested. Some of us are bold enough to make the first move. Yep, we're not afraid!

In a previous article, I shared that at least one of the COVID-19 vaccines was less effective against certain strains of the novel coronavirus. What researchers call 'break through infections' were reported in persons who had received the Pfizer vaccine.

What are 'break through' cases?

A 'break through' case is simply explained as a person who has been fully vaccinated contracting a disease they were to be fully protected against. In this case the COVID-19 virus has been reported to be infecting the fully vaccinated.

CDC stats

Though concerned about these cases, scientists are touting that these infections are extremely rare. But is this a fact? According to Bloomberg, the CDC's Tom Clark
