Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) recruiting Commissioned Officers (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica)

Applications are invited from qualified persons to serve as Commissioned Officers in the JDF. The requirements for selection are as follows:

Nationality: Commonwealth citizen 

Age Requirements: 

• Eighteen (18) to twenty-three (23) years old 
• Up to age twenty-five (25) with a minimum of a first degree from an approved institution.

Medical and Physical Requirements:

Candidates should be fully immunized against: Tuberculosis (BCG Vaccine), Polio, Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR), Diphtheria, Tetanus, Hepatitis B and C. 

The following ailments will preclude candidates from enlistment: Asthma, Scoliosis, Hernia, Abdominal surgery, Hypertension, Colour blindness, Sickle Cell Trait or Disease, Diabetes, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Human T-Lymphotropic Virus (HTLV), Hepatitis, Tuberculosis, Significant Dental Caries, Dental Malocclusion,  Flat feet, Bone or Joint deformities, History of Mental illness, Obesity and any other significant medical illnesses.

Minimum Height:

• Males: 173 cm or 5ft 7in
• Females: 162.5 cm or 5ft 4in.

Marital status:

• Single 

Minimum Academic Requirements:

• Five (5) subjects - Caribbean Secondary Education (CSEC), General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) including English Language and Mathematics.
• Two (2) A' levels/CAPE (Units 1 and 2 where applicable) at grades 1-5 or diploma or associate degree that is accredited by the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ)

Security Clearance:

Candidates should not have any criminal records or any court cases pending against them. Candidates who meet the requirements above will be vetted, which includes being fingerprinted.
